SRMC 2024-25

The Srinivasa Ramanujan Mathematics Competition (SRMC) is a collegiate-level Olympiad-style competition aimed at fostering a culture of deep mathematical thinking and problem solving in India. While global platforms such as the Putnam Competition and American Mathematics Competition (AMC) have long served as breeding grounds for talent in the USA, India lacks a parallel initiative to bridge the gap between school-level Olympiads and advanced collegiate math. SRMC seeks to fill that gap.
The competition challenges participants on core areas of mathematics such as Algebra, Geometry, Combinatorics, Probability, and Logic. The problems are based on concepts typically covered in high school (up to Grade 12) and first-year undergraduate mathematics, with a strong emphasis on problem-solving skills and conceptual intuition.
The inaugural edition of SRMC took place in 2024, organized in collaboration with the Maths and Physics Club, IIT Bombay.
